Albert Einstein Rides Again (and other happenings)

What a weekend (and Monday)!

The fun started on Friday with the big guy's first swimming lesson. He'll be taking them every night for the next two weeks. I'll be sure to get some shots at the pool...once he gets in up to his chest :) Saturday started early with a trip to the gym and a WW meeting. Wow - a total of .6 lbs lost the past 4 weeks. I am on top of my game (ha)! The big guy and daddy finished up our three-weekend-long landscaping project. (I'll be sure to get a picture of it once it stops raining - Troy did a great job!) During a lunch of popcorn chicken, the big guy decided to fashion a motorcycle out of Tinker Toy connector pieces, only to be ridden by "Albert Pujols" as he referred to him.

Saturday evening kicked off with the big guy's first ever big boy puzzle, which we put together three times that evening! And a shot or two of the giant little guy, showing his love of all things spoon-like.

While Troy, his dad and brothers went golfing on Sunday afternoon, the big guy helped me put together a book shelf for the nursery. Unfortunately, the box came with tons of styrofoam, which he broke into little pieces and shared with his little brother...who then ate it...which then lead to a call to Poison Control...which turned out to be nothing...but mommy still had a moment or two of panic anyway!

And then, in the parking lot after swim lessons last night, the big guy got nailed by the van door, which led to a trip to Carle Care to make sure he was ok. We figured he was since he downed a cheeseburger on the way from swim lessons to the doctor. By the time we got home, the little guy hadn't stopped crying off and on since about 4pm, which is very unusual for him. Mother's intuition? Ear infection. Which led to my second trip to Carle Care within an hour timespan, followed by a trip to Wal-Mart to pick up antibiotics for his double ear infection. What a night!

Here's crossing our fingers that everything goes much more smoothly the rest of the week.

Hope your week gets better!
That first picture didn't even look like the big guy! Is he changing that quickly?
Hope you're saving copies of this blog-
someday you'll wish for this kind of excitement with your kids. They grow up and find better things to go! ha!
