Happy Birthday, Kari!

Since you were kind enough to write me a poem last week, I find it only fitting to return the favor. If I were seeing you in person, I would instead sing to you the song I wrote for you many years ago while we sat in the backseat of our parents' car on the grandest of occasions - your birthday. You remember the tune, "This is your birthday song, and I'm gonna sing it all day long. Oh, won't you please sing with me..." But instead, I will simply mark this occasion with an ode.

My Dearest Sister Kari,
Oh how I love you so.
I'm so glad you're not a nerd.
So glad you're not a ho.

You are instead a flower,
some would say a daisy.
You always make me laugh,
as you are, in deed, quite crazy.

I'm not sure what I'd do,
if you weren't in my life.
You're my Andy Taylor.
And I'm your Barney Fife.

And though you're hours away,
we're so close, that's no Bologna.
Your my bestest bud, my pal, my rock
In short - my homie.

So I hope you have a blast,
on this very special occasion.
Kari, my sis, so funny & sweet.
And oh so very Caucasian.

Love you!!!!!!
Kelli

Thank you for that beautiful ode. I have never been given such a compliment as being compared to Andy Taylor! I still need to hear a rendition of the "Birthday Song"! Thank you so much for my song and my present...I got it late yesterday. Love ya!!!!

It's so refreshing to see SISTERS that love each other. Of course, I have some great ones myself.
Happy Birthday, Kari. May you and Kelli enjoy "sister time" for many years to come.
And I simply loved the poems!
