OK, So We're Not 21 Anymore

This past weekend, Troy and I ventured up to Chicago for my sorority reunion. While he met up with some college pals, I was reunited with my fellow Delta Zetas. There were no secret handshakes, candle ceremonies or recitations of the founding members. What we had, though, were lots of photographs, hugs (accompanied by giddy screams) and relentless use of the phrase, "Oh my gosh, you haven't changed a bit!" And seriously, most of these girls hadn't. I'd like to know what skin care they use! Troy met back up with us at a club following the reunion, and by about 2 am (which was unfortunately 3am due to the cruel timing of daylight savings), we cabbed it back to our hotel.

While we had a good time, a few things became glaringly obvious to us upon our return home yesterday. 1) We are not big city people. It's great for a visit or weekend getaway, but we prefer our small town bubble for day-to-day life. 2) Nothing beats hanging out with the kiddos. Dates and crazy nights out with friends are great and quite necessary, but they only make you appreciate your living room, crowded with play mats, plastic dinosaurs and exercaucers, even more. 3) We are definitely not 21 anymore! Outside of a late-night feeding or ear infection, I haven't been up past 2am in about 5 years. A group nap was a must yesterday afternoon...and my body is still moving slower than normal. I've posted just a few of the pics below.

We're planning to return to Chicago again next month for our anniversary, but I have a feeling we'll be in a bit sooner and won't have the pesky time change to deal with. Regardless, I know we'll have a blast!

After all, I've heard that 32 is the new 21.

You probably haven't changed as much as you think either! Give your beautiful self some credit girl! Glad you had a great time! Missing you! I was wondering if you took your scarf I made you to show off? ;o)
